When choosing or making a cage for a little one like me, it's best to place 1/4 inch galvanized wire mesh on the bottom of the cage. That way, when I poop, it falls through pretty easily. The 1/4 inch mesh is also the perfect size so that my feet won't get caught. Also place a large plastic lid off a storage container under the bottom of the cage to catch my droppings.This way there is no shredded mess to pick up and clean-up is easier for mom. Mom wipes up my poop and food droppings from the container lid and uses a Lysol wipe to sterilize it.
